Wisdom Works
I'll jump in with los and his Creative Chaos today. We have started a new series called Wisdom Works, teaching from Proverbs. Brandon, our amazing lighting and stage designer, came up with a great stage feature using giant gears. All the graphics for our sermon incorporate gear blue prints as a back ground and tie it all together.
To give some perspective, the gears stand 22ft high. They were cut mostly by volunteers from 3/4" MDF. We then painted them and attached them to a simple frame to hang them from our lighting truss. Here is another picture Brandon took on his phone.

are they heavy? 3/4 MDF--wow-must be a sturdy truss.

Jim, yes they are heavy. I don't have a number for you for the weight. The frame is very simple 2 x 4's running up the middle. The gears themselves provide most of the stability. I can take some pictures of the back so you can see it if that is what you are wanting.
